Anne Cunningham and her work

Anne Cunningham studied Printed Textiles at Middlesex University (BA hons) and subsequently set up her own design studio in Shoreditch London. She worked as a successful textile designer for 20 years for both US and UK clients, such as: Habitat, Heals, Marks and Spencers, Macy's, and Osh Kosh B'Gosh.

Since living in Cambridge Anne has developed her passion for colour in other media. The starting points for her recent collage work are colour sketches, parts of which are then enlarged and developed. Although the works that result are predominantly abstract, through their use of colour and texture they make allusions to landscape and architecture. In this way, Anne plays with how painting can subtly refer to something outside of itself.
